We drove into San Fransisco again this last weekend. The first part of the day was spent at the Presidio, an old Army Base (Spanish, Mexican, and American) that was turned over to the National Parks. They have renovated many of the homes and apartments and rent them out to anyone and also added a YMCA. It is uncommon to have a house with a yard and garage in SF so, the rent ranges from $2,000 to $9,000 a month! Can you imagine paying that much for rent! Looking at these pictures you would think that it was always a forest, but actually these trees were all planted about 100 years ago by the Army (to cover up the sand dunes)...about 400,000 seedlings over time.
Lucy playing with Baby Grandma Cia (named because she took this doll from Grandma and does not plan to give it back) that she takes with her everywhere.
There are quite a few hiking trails and some parks.
