Happy 40th Anniversary!

We threw a surprise 40th anniversary party for Grandpa and Grandma Nelson. They thought they needed to get dressed up for family pictures, but really it was our way of getting them prepared for the party. We also told them that all their kids came to town for a family gathering like we met up in Arkansas last year, but really we had a whole lot more planned.
Annie and I talked about and wondered what Cia's reaction might be! She cried 3 times over the weekend. It was very sweet.

You can't tell in the pictures, but the cake has beautiful sparkles on it and it was ordered from Cia's favorite cake place in town. Annie thought it would be special to use Cia's and her own china to serve cake with. We also decorated with red roses and white linens. The party ended with a slide show (put together by Katy) of pictures....that is very Mel and Cia. I think it was the first time they didn't put the pictures together, but it was pictures taken from their house without them knowing!

We managed to get family pictures toward the end of the party.

And with the grand kids too!
